Lieutenant
General Don Holder,
US Army (Ret):
LTG (Ret.) Don Holder is the Director of Training and
Operations Services with Mission Systems Division of
Northrop Grumman. He retired from the U.S. Army in September
1997 from the post of Deputy TRADOC Commander for Training
and Combined Arms Center and Commandant of the Command
and General Staff College. |
He
is now the Director for Training and Operational Services
for Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems business segment.
In that position, he heads the group's support to Joint
and Army conceptual and force development and leads support
teams that train Army divisions and brigades. General Holder's
principal activities in recent years have been in supporting
concept development for senior leaders of TRADOC, serving
as an operational commander and senior observer in Joint
and Army experiments, and in assisting in Army future force
development. He is a regular participant in the UNIFIED
QUEST experimental series, teaches classes for the Canadian
Forces College, and is presently conducting analyses of
leader development and education for the Army War College
and the Command and General Staff College.
General
Holder's military career alternated between combat units
and the training base. He commanded cavalry units from platoon
to regimental levels and served as the commander of the
3rd Mechanized Infantry Division from 1993 to 1995. As a
captain, he commanded a cavalry troop in combat in Vietnam.
In his third assignment to the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment,
General Holder commanded the Regiment through the final
days of the Cold War as it continued to patrol the Iron
Curtain along the Czech and East German frontiers. Deploying
the unit to Saudi Arabia in the winter of 1990, he led VII
Corps' deployment for DESERT SHIELD and its main attack
in DESERT STORM. The 2nd ACR distinguished itself as the
only American unit to fight outnumbered against the Republican
Guard.
As
Commander of the 3rd ID, General Holder deployed a brigade
to Kuwait and supported UN peacekeeping operations in Croatia
and the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia. His division
training program accommodated missions as different as peacekeeping,
NEO air assaults and standard heavy force operations. Under
his command, 3rd ID designed and conducted the first U.
S. Army training missions with the armies of Russia and
Ukraine.
General
Holder also served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Support
at NATO's Central Army Group. In that position, he assisted
in the transition to the new command structure for land
forces in NATO's Central Region and in training allied forces
for new post-Cold War missions.
In
TRADOC assignments, he taught tactics, was an author of
the 1982 and 1986 editions of FM 100-5, AirLand Battle,
headed the School of Advanced Military Studies, and served
as the TRADOC Deputy Commander for Combined Arms and Training.
His papers on tactics and operational art influenced Army
doctrine and training for a decade and won several awards
including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff's Award
for Strategic Writing.
General
Holder graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree
in history and holds a MA from Harvard University in European
History. His decorations include two Distinguished Service
Medals, the Bronze Star for Valor, the German Cross of Honor
in Gold and the Russian Medal for Military Excellence.

Alex
Guariento
A 1984 graduate of Oregon State University, Alex Guariento
is currently the Senior Director of Safety and Security
for Greyhound Lines, Incorporated, in Dallas, TX. He has
held this post since 1997 but he has held previous management
positions with the company since departing active duty in
1994.
Commissioned
as a US Army transportation officer, Alex was the Honor
Graduate from the Army's Transportation Officer Basic Course
and he was the Distinguished Graduate from the Officer Advanced
Course. He is a graduate of the Combined Arms Services Staff
School and served as a transportation company commander
in Mannheim, Germany. Most recently, Alex served as an Observer
Controller Team Chief with the 75th Division Exercise (USAR),
in Dallas, TX. He holds the rank of Major in the Army Reserves.
A
nationally recognized expert in the field of commercial
highway transportation safety, Alex was recently awarded
the "Safety Leader of the Year Award" by the United
Motorcoach Association. He currently serves as Chairman
of the Bus Industry Safety Council (American Bus Association)
and serves as a Member of the Motor Transport Committee,
National Safety Council. Alex holds Professional Safety
Certification as Certified Director of Safety (CDS) by the
North American Transportation Management Institute.
An
avid golfer, Alex and his wife, Judy, reside in Plano, TX,
with their two children.

Matt
Keener
As Senior Vice President for the Retail Services
Division of Trammell Crow Company Houston, Matt Keener is
responsible for managing the Retail Brokerage Team to achieve
maximum productivity while maintaining the highest level
of excellence and professionalism. Also, Matt is responsible
for acting as a client liaison. He provides exclusive brokerage
representation for tenants, project leasing consultation,
property disposition and acquisition services.
A
1986 graduate of The University of Southern California,
Matt was commissioned as a US Army infantry officer. He
is a graduate of the Army's Infantry Officer Basic Course,
Airborne School and Ranger School. His assignments on active
duty included the 3rd Infantry Division in Schweinfurt,
Germany, and the Ranger Training Brigade at Fort Benning,
GA.
After
receiving his MBA from The University of Texas, Matt joined
Trammell Crow Company in 1994 as a Marketing Representative.
Matt currently is focusing the majority of his time on tenant
representation services for a number of national credit
clients to include Bank of America, Michael’s Stores
(Aaron Brothers), McDonald’s (Chipotle Mexican Grill),
and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Dana
Payne
A nationally-recognized human resources executive,
Dana Payne has held key executive positions within corporations
such as S&A Restaurant Corporation, CompUSA, United
Dental Care Inc, Concentra Inc., and McLane Foodservice
Distribution Inc. (a division of Berkshire-Hathaway). At
McLane Foodservice Distribution, Dana led the effort for
McLane to initiate a very successful Junior Military Officer
(JMO) staffing initiative. She has extensive experience
in creating new human resource strategies for both start-up
and Fortune 1000 corporations. Dana has developed professional
human resource teams that were responsive to the needs and
critical success of the operations management group corporate-wide.
A native of Marquette, MI, Dana holds a B.S. in Political
Science/History/Business from Northern Michigan University,
a M.S. in Human Resource Organizational Behavioral Development/Business
from Amberton University, a MBA in General Business &
Strategic Leadership from Amberton University, and is currently
working towards her PhD in General Psychology. A competitive
athlete throughout high school and college, Dana maintains
an active involvement in multiple team and individual sports.

James
Ransome, Ph.D,
CISSP, CISM
Dr.
James Ransome is Senior Director, Secure Wireless
Engineering with Global Government Solutions (GGSG) and
Corporate Security Programs (CSPO) at Cisco. He provides
leadership as well as technical and operational expertise to
the company's assessment of existing and emerging
technologies, vendors, tools, devices, architectures,
applications, and strategies that support the continuous
integration of the most appropriate technology to meet the
current security challenges of Cisco's global government
customers. He has a particular focus on secure wireless and
mobile IP solutions.
Ransome is a recognized security practitioner and author.
His career is marked by leadership positions in both the
private and public industries, and by a consistent record of
technological innovation in wireless, cyber, and physical
security disciplines.
Prior to
joining Cisco, he served as Senior Vice President of
Commercial Managed and Professional Security Services at
SecureInfo Inc., headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. Ransome
has held various senior executive information systems and
physical security management positions, including Vice
President of Integrated Security at CH2M HILL, Vice President
of Corporate Security at Exodus and at Cable and Wireless,
Vice President of Security Operations and Services at Pilot
Network Services, Director of Global Information Systems
Security for Applied Materials, Director of Information
Systems Security for Autodesk, and Director of IT Security,
Directory Services and Email at Qwest Communications. While
at Exodus Communications and Cable and Wireless, Ransome
managed both Internet and physical security for hundreds of
thousands of users within the world's largest commercial
hosting environment, serving more than 4,500 customers in 42
data centers.
Prior to
joining the corporate world, Ransome spent 23 years in
government service. This includes ten years as a computer
scientist, national security and imagery analyst for Lawrence
Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in support of the
national intelligence community, DOE NEST Team, DoD, and
federal law enforcement. He was a NCIS Civilian Federal
Special Agent (1811) assigned to the Foreign
Counterintelligence (FCI) Squad / San Francisco with
responsibilities for FCI investigations and operations,
regional law enforcement agency liaison officer, special
projects OPSEC, counterterrorism support and analysis, as well
as protective service details for national and foreign
dignitaries.
Ransome
is a retired U.S. Naval Reserve Intelligence Officer (O-5,
Commander), a former U.S. Marine Corps Weapons Platoon
Sergeant / Intelligence Specialist, and has completed 23 years
combined active-duty and reserve service which includes duty
in Operation Desert Shield/Storm (field operations), Operation
Joint Endeavor (counter-terrorism), and Vietnam-Era service
specializing both in weapons systems and intelligence
operations. During this time he worked in over 15 countries
with US Navy Task Force 168 and received personal
commendations from the Chief of Naval Operations and the
Department of Army for his work as the Officer in Charge of a
small operational team operating on the border of Saudi Arabia
and Iraq during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Ransome
holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems specializing in
Information Security, a Master of Science Degree in
Information Systems, and graduate certificates in
International Business and International Affairs. He has
developed and tested a security model, architecture, and best
practices for converged wireless-wired network security as his
doctoral dissertation.
Ransome
is an Adjunct Professor for Nova Southeastern University's
Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences (SCIS)
Information Security Program, designated a National Center of
Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education by the
U.S. National Security Agency and Department of Homeland
Security. He received the 2005 Nova Southeastern University
Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award. He is a member of
Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE), the International Honor Society for
the Computing and Information Disciplines, a Certified
Information Security Manager (CISM), and a Certified
Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Ransome
is the author of several published books, including Wireless
Operational Security, VoIP Security, Instant Messaging (IM)
Security, and Business Continuity Planning and Disaster
Recovery Guide for Information Security Managers. He also
developed the initial wireless, network architecture, SCADA,
and VoIP security best practices for the Federal
Communications Commission Network Reliability and
Interoperability Council Focus Group on Cybersecurity - -
Homeland Defense.

Rick
A. Sirois
Rick Sirois is an Information Technology executive
in Detroit, Michigan, with over twelve years of experience
in telecommunications and data technology. Upon graduation
from the University of New Hampshire in 1994, he was commissioned
in the United States Air Force.
In
2000, Rick transitioned from the United States Air Force
as a Communications Officer to the position of Director
of Information Technology with a Netherlands-based Telecommunications
company.
He
is a Summa cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University
of New Hampshire and attended Cornell University under a
fellowship from George Mason University.

Bill
Squires
A 1975 graduate of the United States Naval Academy,
Bill Squires recently began his own consulting firm with
clients such as the NFL's New York Giants and the New York
Jets. Bill is also involved with Champions World which hosts
international soccer games in the United States featuring
the top professional teams in the world. Bill is currently
the Vice President of the Stadium Managers Association which
has members from the National Football League, Major League
Baseball, Minor League Baseball, as well as universities
and colleges.
Following
his successful active duty Navy career, Bill began a career
in sports facilities management. He has held senior positions
with the following facilities: Yankee Stadium, Giants Stadium
(two tours), Cleveland Browns Stadium, and Disney's Wide
World of Sports. His broad responsibilities include all
aspects of stadium operations. He has over 17 years in the
sports facility industry and is recognized as one of the
best in the business.
As
an active duty Naval aviator for twelve years, prior to
joining the Naval Reserves, Bill acquired over 4000 hours
flying the P-3 Orion and was deployed worldwide. His last
active duty station was the USS JOHN F. KENNEDY where he
served as the communications officer. Bill recently retired
from the Naval Reserves as a Commander after 28 years of
service. He continues the fine mission of finding future
leaders who will receive a commission from the United States
Naval Academy.
Bill
was born and raised in South Orange, New Jersey and currently
resides in West Orange, New Jersey, with his wife, Jodi,
and two children, Sean and Sydney.

Andrew
Swinand
From his first job as a platoon leader in the US
Army's 3 rd Infantry Division to his current role as a Senior
Vice-President and Group Client Leader at Starcom Worldwide,
Andrew Swinand has consistently changed the rules of the
game to create a competitive advantage for his company and
clients. Andrew attended the Wharton School of Business
at the University of Pennsylvania where he received an Army
ROTC scholarship. Upon graduation, Andrew entered active
duty. While serving as an Army officer in Germany , Andrew
was awarded the 5 th Corps Leadership Award for his service
as a platoon leader in Germany .
Upon
departure from the Army, Andrew accompanied his wife, Laura,
to Los Angeles where he joined an advertising agency. At
BBDO, he was responsible for Pizza Hut's western newspaper
buying to include planning for new restaurant openings.
In this role, he increased Pizza Hut's new restaurant sales
32% through an analysis of offer sequencing. This led to
Andrew eventually becoming an Account Supervisor overseeing
all of Pizza Hut's western division advertising.
This
slice of broader marketing experience led Andrew to seek
a job at Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati . While at P&G,
Andrew was awarded the “Power and Passion”?
award for his work repositioning a line extension for Secret
Antiperspirant resulting in an incremental $80MM in sales.
This success led to his selection and promotion by the P&G
leadership to become Director of Marketing for reflect.com.
Working in e-commerce allowed Andrew to learn the value
of accountable marketing and the power of technology.
After
working at reflect.com, Andrew recognized the need for a
new form of agency partnership. One focused on strategic
communication planning and flawless execution. This vision
led him to Starcom Worldwide.
Andrew
has been recognized by "Media Magazine" as a rising
star, Ad Age as the "Next Exec" in print leadership,
and Ad:Tech as an interactive marketing judge. In addition
to serving on the Board of Advisors at MA3 LLC, he also
serves on the advisory board of various technology companies.
Andrew and Laura reside in Evanston , Illinois , along with
their twins, Tanner and Georgia.

Terrence
Youmans
A 1994 graduate of West Point, Terrence Youmans
was a US Army Signal Corps officer. Assignments included
leadership positions at Fort Polk, LA, Fort Bliss, TX, and
Taegu, Korea. After leaving the Army, Terrence joined Harvard
Net, Inc. in Boston, MA, as the Systems Implementation Manager.
There, he managed a team of network engineers in support
of telecommunication services and also served as the company's
Quality and Assurance Manager. Additionally, Terrence held
a senior management position with a leading nationwide grocery
chain where he provided general management leadership for
one of the company's largest distribution centers in the
United States. Most recently, Terrence assumed a senior
position with Waste Management in their Florida region.
Terrence
has a BS in Mathematics from the US Military Academy at
West Point, New York, and a MBA from the Sloan School of
Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT),
in Cambridge, Massachusetts. While a cadet at West Point,
Terrence played Division I football as a three-year member
of the varsity team.
He
resides in Orlando, Fl and is a active community service
volunteer.
